• Brian Riesmeijer Founder & Consultant

Basketball has been a big part of my life since I started playing at age 10. My dream of playing in the U.S. became reality at East Mississippi Community College (EMCC). Due to an eligibility mistake, my time there ended earlier than it should have. Later, I learned I was eligible—but I didn’t receive the right guidance at the time. That experience is the foundation of Ball on Board. I know how confusing and overwhelming the U.S. system can be, and I want to make sure today’s student-athletes get the support I missed. By guiding them and placing them in the right high school or college environment, we help them adjust to a new culture, higher competition, and new expectations. Seeing young athletes turn their talent and work ethic into real opportunities is what drives me. At Ball on Board, we’re committed to guiding them every step of the way as they chase their dreams.

  • Gregory Tjin-a-Koeng Basketball Events Coordinator

Basketball has been part of my life from a young age. What started as playing the game grew into many years of coaching top-level teams and organizing basketball events. Through basketball, I learned the importance of discipline, responsibility, and working together—lessons that have shaped me both on and off the court. Basketball also plays a big role in our family life. All three of our children have played the game, two of whom are still active, and my wife is a coach as well. Whether in the gym or at the dinner table, basketball has always been about growing together and pushing each other to be better. At Ball on Board, I focus on creating events and experiences that go beyond just competition. My goal is to inspire young athletes, connect people, and create moments that leave a lasting impact—on the court and in life.

  • Freek Geurts Consultant

My connection with basketball began when I was young and has only grown stronger over time. While studying in the U.S., my children played basketball, which helped them grow both on and off the court. Through the game, they developed teamwork, discipline, and other essential life skills that shaped who they are today. Witnessing this inspired me to help others experience the same opportunities. Now, I coach players of all ages, helping them develop their skills and love for the game. To me, basketball isn’t just a sport—it’s a way to learn valuable lessons about life. My goal is to share my passion for the game and show young athletes how it can empower them to grow, both as players and individuals. I’m proud to pass on the lessons basketball has taught me and to inspire the next generation to reach their full potential.
